Pan card document Scanning process - UTIITSL Pan Online Services

Scanning Specifications:

1. a. PAN Application form (front & backside) to be scanned in 200dpi, color - PDFA format

    b. Supporting Document (POI and POA as provided by applicant) to be scanned in 200dpi color, PDFA format

    c. Based on the above points a and b the PAN Application and Supporting Documents need to be clubbed into a single file and uploaded to the server. The size of complete scanned file can be Maximum up to 2MB.


2. Photo Scanning 300 dpi, colour, 213 X 213 px (Size less than 30 kb) in JPEG format


3. Signature scanning 600 dpi? black and white (less than 60 kb) in JPEG format


Ans 1: For uploading Application form and document, you have used your default printer software, in 200dpi colour PDF format,

Before Scanning, 

  • You have to select file type as PDF format, 
  • Resolution is 200dpi, 
  • Scan type is "Auto" or "Colour" 
  • Document size is A4 format
  • Click on "Continue Scanning" to scan all the documents in one PDF file.
  • The size of the complete scanned file can be Maximum up to 2MB.


Ans 2: For Photo Scanning, You have to open "Paint" software.
In Paint, click on "From Scanner or camera" under the File menu.
A new window is open in paint, Click on "custom setting" or "Adjust the quality of the scanned picture"


Resolution is 300dpi, Picture type is colour, Click on "ok" to save the setting, and Scan the applicant passport size photo.
After the scan, you have to crop the photo from the entire field, and Resize in 213 to 213 and save it.



Ans 3: For signature scanning, you must open the "paint" software.
In Paint, click "From Scanner or Camera" under the File menu.
A new window opens in Paint, click "Custom Settings" or "Adjusted Scan Picture Quality".

The resolution is 600 dpi, the picture type is black and white, click "OK" to save the setting and scan the applicant's signature.

After the scan, you have to crop the signatures from across the region, and if the size is more than 60kb, it can be reduced by the "Microsoft Office Picture Manager" or "Paint" by selecting resize option.
